Displaying fictitious license plate/registration

Client with no criminal history and no motor vehicle department history charged with knowingly displaying fictitious registration tags from another vehicle. Risk = 4 months jail, 2 years probation, $750 fine plus surcharges. Showed prosecution that the charge was missing a key element of intent. Client able to plead responsible to a civil traffic violation of no proof of insurance, criminal charge dismissed, all fines waived, no license suspension.
