Client charged with breaking spouse’s property during argument. Risk = 4 months jail, 2 years probation, $750 fine plus 83% surcharge, mandatory domestic violence counseling, loss of gun rights. Trial held. After cross-examination of police officers and alleged victim, defense motion to the court for Rule 20 acquittal (prosecution did not meet the lowest threshold for evidence) without putting on a single witness was granted. Client acquitted (found not guilty). A great win.
