Client charged with failure to maintain residential property (litter, safety hazard). Client suffered from several severe medical issues and advanced age. Over a year and a half of negotiating with prosecutor and involvement of family members to assist defendant, case was dismissed. Client risk = 6 months jail, 3 years probation, $2,500 fine plus surcharges, other civil sanctions.
