Client charged with criminally causing traffic death due to traffic violation. Commercial driver accused of hitting pedestrian in a crosswalk. Engaged accident reconstruction experts and investigators, utilized city bus video, demonstrated that the calculations of the police investigation and reconstruction were systemically flawed, that eyewitness accounts were inaccurate, and that the pedestrian had cut out of the crosswalk prior to being struck. Prosecution stuck to their case up until right before jury trial, decided that the State’s case was not as strong as it thought, and offered a resolution via a civil traffic violation. A year and a half of hard work, expertise, and not giving up saved a client’s future and career. This was a career highlight case.
